Storytelling Festival 2008 - Northland Public Library

Because 2008 is Northland's 40th anniversary, we are having a bit of a homecoming for previous featured tellers. We asked folks to vote for their favorite tellers from past years. Based on those votes, this year's featured tellers are: Bil Lepp, the biggest liar in West Virginia -- or anywhere else; Dan Keding, folk singer, tale spinner and all around mesmerizing storyteller from Chicago;  Dovie Thomason, who tells stories she first heard from her Kiowa Apache and Lakota family and Joe Wos -- need I say more?

The dates for the festival are August 8 & 9 2008. (More information is coming soon!)

In the meantime, we are sponsoring a Celebration of Storytelling on the last Monday of the month at 7pm. This month, Alan Irvine, a regular at the festival, will be telling stories of derring-do, mystery and magic on April 28 at 7pm. (COS is a joint Adult Services/CYAS program targeted at older children, teens and adults.)
