Hi! I'm Jessica Hoptay (but you can call me Jess). I'm currently in my second semester in Pitt's MLIS program, so come August I'll be finished with my degree. I love being a student, but I really can't wait to get started as a children's librarian!

Fun facts about me:

  1. I spent the last year living in New York as a nanny (not quite as glamorous as The Nanny Diaries, but fun nonetheless).
  2. My mom's a librarian, too!
  3. I love to travel and explore--I lived in London for a semester as an undergrad and spent some time in France and the UK, as well.
  4. I'm a pop culture junkie. I love TV shows, going to the movies, reading reviews, and listening to great music.

I'm really excited to be a part of ACLA! I look forward to meeting you all, helping out, and learning tons. Feel free to email me at hoptayj@einetwork.net anytime!

Below is a photo of me with the giant T-Rex at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. I've been to see the dinos three times now! :-)

Hello! I'm Reilly Dunn. I'm also in my second semester in the MLIS program at Pitt, but I'll be graduating in December. I moved here from Plymouth, MA and have really been enjoying my time here in Pittsburgh! Like Jess, I'm looking forward to working as a Children's Librarian once I have my degree.  Below is a picture of me during graduation festivities from Mount Holyoke College.  I was pretty excited about the bagpipes :o)

More about me:

  • When I'm not in school or working, you can usually find me knitting or taking care of my many plants
  • I've a passion for languages and have studied Spanish, Latin, Italian, and Gaeilge (Irish Gaelic)
  • I'd choose blackberries over chocolate any day
  • I'm trained to prepare specimens for and operate Scanning Electron Microscopes

I'm really excited to be working with ACLA and I'm looking forward to meeting and getting to know everyone. I love getting mail so you can reach me at dunnr@einetwork.com. I also have a blog at: http://deardaoin.blogspot.com where I write about my various knitting projects and occasionally about non-knitting related things.
